I can't believe this day has finally arrived! After eating and breathing photography day and night for a year - I've reached 365!!! And along the way I've discovered a great deal about myself and the world around me in NYC.
I have my wife (who herself achieved 365 a while back) to thank for getting me involved in this project and helping me to reconnect with my passion for photography and art. I also want to thank my sons for putting up with all the "detours" that I'd spring on them in our travels so I could get shots. There were also many nights I said I'd be home soon and then get lost in photography around the City for hours. So I thank my family very much for putting up with me and for their support.
I also want to thank all of my friends out there in 365 land for your never-ending support and encouragement on all my pics. In fact you've so generously fav'd my pics that they appeared in the weekly Top 20 an astounding 41 times with 5 #1s !!! But don't worry it hasn't gone to my head because I am humbled by the brillant photos I see all over this site each day that may not have rec'd the exposure mine did. I have learned so much from so many of you. I also tried my best to view and comment on as many of your pics as I possibly could and am sorry for times I missed anyone.
It is pretty amazing that while we all come from different walks of life, we share the same love for photography that unites us. Ross @Scrivna - big props my man for putting this all together and letting it do its thing - genuis! I've even had the pleasure of meeting many 365ers in person and converse with others off the project. So how could I just walk away from this fabulous community? Thus I will continue Year 2, but post on a leisurely basis so I can devote time to creating a website, book and pursue my shots more fully. See you around :-D
My final 365 "pic" (of Year One) is a slide show of selected pics from my project. Please enjoy and I hope it works since I'm having internet problems ugh!
Congratulations Michael

So beautiful, Michael! Very well done! Congratulations on a BIG finish! It's a FAV and so are you! Take care and let us know when you've got that website up. We'll have to visit it often. It was a pleasure following you and your wonderful photos. Wishing you the best of success in all your endeavors! Cheers!
Congratulations Michael, your photos are consistently some of the best not only on this site but also of those I see from professionals in magazines and in galleries. I always look forward to them and your vision of your home town! Please don't leave the project now it is complete! have faved this too by the way!
Wow! Congrats on completing your 365 Michael! What an achievement! I have really enjoyed seeing NYC through your photos and your vision. I'm so glad to hear that you will continue 365. You are an amazing photographer! Fav!
Nice video review of your work. Congratulations on a winning year on 365! Glad you are not leaving and looking forward to many more photos of the great city of NewYork.
I am so glad you posted this before my departure. The video is nothing short of great which is a testimony to your talents. Good to hear you'll still be around and I wish you every success with your other projects. It has been a buzz sharing the same time line with you and others and we have all finished within days of each other. It has been a pleasure following you and of course, fav...
@marlboromaam - Thanks Maggie very much. You're a big part of the 365 community and I always enjoy your pics and chatting (and reading your chats with others - hehe).
@seattle - Thank you Constance. I am technologically challenged so I can't believe I got the video made and posted. That may have been a harder accomplishment then 365 - hahaha!
congratulations on such a magnificent 365 project - wonderful slide show and I'm really glad you're doing a book.
(the other thing I'd say about the dark side is that the quality of pictures on there is so much better - the people I'm following on both I see the same shot on both places and it really shows)
Wohooooo! Congrats on making it all the way! It gets so crazy shooting, processing, posting, and commenting everyday but you did it! And with style and class! It's been a pleasure following you, Michael! And a lot of fun sharing the t20 with you! ;) Good luck with your future projects! You will have loads of success, your work is amazing!
@orangecrush - Thx Jerry very much appreciated. You're an amazing talent and glad to have followed each other. I remember your 365. Yeah this is a wonderful communtiy so I'll be sticking around but posting without pressure so I can work on other photo projects.
Wow Michael You Did it!! YaY !! I have followed you from the start of my project and what i loved the most about you is even though for awile there you did not follow back....you still replied to all of my comments AND commented on my Photo's!! When the "Big" Day came and i recieved your follow i was quite shocked to realized that you hadent been following me back but at the Same time Quite Proud that you recognized me and my work beyond the occasional comment!!! I was Thrilled!! Since that day i have been so motivated by you and so many others on this site to do my best...work my hardest and learn, learn, learn from all of you!! You Are the Best!! And i love how you protrayed the real New Yorker with your Big Heart and your unending desire to work hard and Get the Job Done!!! And I Just Hope that this will not be my last FAV!!!!! Its been an absolute treat to follow you and thankyou for being such a great inspiration.. x
Brilliant Michael! Congratulations go to you for dedicating your soul and body (hehehe... In Italy if you throw yourself into something totally they say you do it with "anima e corpo") to 365 this year :) Really! You produced amazing shots and became an amazingly active member of the community during all three hundred and sixty five days of participation! I had no idea your wife was once a part of the community! That was a well kept secret... so she must have understood your coming home late some nights :) Thanks for all your comments and friendship. And... see you around :D
Whoops - hit the wrong button! I just wanted to say thanks also for the long list of things to see and do next time I am in NYC... you are a great promoter of the city. And! Thanks for representing Alvin! Fav'ing this slideshow with great pleasure!
Many, many congratulations mate on completing your year.. You've captured some brilliant NY shots over the year & I'm pleased to hear you'll be continuing.. Can't view slideshow on phone but will come back to check later..
Congratulations for completing your first year and thanks for showing me once again your beautiful pictures, most of which I have seen and remember. You have been great company throughout this year and hope to see more of your shots in the future.
Congratulations Michael on reaching the huge milestone of 365! I've enjoyed your fantastic images that bring New York to life for all of us. I'm hoping that you will continue on with the project to share your talent with the world. Fantastic collection!
Congrats Michael! I have really enjoyed your project and the wonderful places you have shared with us! Your shots have been nothing short of inspirational! Thank you!
Congratulations on reaching 365! You have been a constant inspiration to me. I have learnt so much about NYC and it is now on my bucket list as a place to visit! I'm most pleased to hear you will still be around and posting from time to time. Such a fantastic collection of shot. Wishing you the best of luck with your book and website! Fav.
Congratulations on your finishing collage Michael. It's been a ball following you (from almost the beginning, forgive me for not knowing you for the first 2 weeks of your journey!) and I've been a bit slack the last few weeks due to time commitments, but you have seriously rocked this site. Amazing number of top 20's - WOW! Glad to see you are coming back, and if I'm ever let back into the US I'd love to hook up and shoot some sights with you...and I'd be delighted to show you sights of UK if you ever are over here! Look forward to the website and book. Well done my friend, awesome job!
congrats, ME. feeling fabulous, i suppose? it's no mean feat what you have accomplished here. the fact that you made me change my impression of NYC to make me want to come back and visit is just one iota of that larger accomplishment. and counsellor, am looking forward to own that book. :-)
Michael you were born to take photos, you're a natural and your 365 project has been bloody amazing, you're bloody amazing and every photo has been bloody amazing:):)
Congratulations you've managed to touch a lot of people.
Michael, this was just magical. I have been in Sydney for work and had missed your final day. Thank you so much for sharing your New York in such a special way. I hope you continue with the project and I look forward to seeing many more of your wonderful photos.
Thank you, Michael for this wonderful end-of-your-project posting! I've faved so many of these photos and can remember many of the comments that you wrote about them - where they were taken - who you were with. I have loved following you and have always appreciated the fact that you commented on so many of my photos. WIth all the followers you had, you always were so appreciative of our comments and gracious about commenting back. I'm sure you went through a myriad of emotions while putting together this slide show! Enjoy your time off! Today will feel very strange - not having to go out to get a photo is very freeing, but that urge will still be with you. Enjoy your time off, and feel a real sense of accomplishment in what you've done. You've inspired so many people on this site. Well done, my friend!
Congratulations, Michael on completing your project in great style. You are one of the most talented photographers I follow and it has been a pleasure and an inspiration to see your photography. Looking forward to year two! FAV, of course.
Congratulations Michael. Your pictures of NYC were some of the first pictures I saw here. I love how beautifully you depict all that is amazing about this city. I hope you will continue to year two. Thank you for sharing your work!
Fav on the finale! Fav on your stupendous year of truly inspring photos. Fav on your generosity to the whole community either in comments or sharing time with people in NYC! Fav that we'll keep seeing you! All the best...
thank you so much for continuing on, for all that you have contributed here - not just as a photographer but by taking the time to comment, to support, to just being willing to share. so much appreciated. how you ever managed to choose among your many brilliant photos to create this incredible slideshow is beyond me; stupendous, and of course, a fav.
Tears in my eyes. . .I may be too emotional to belong to this community. Following you has been a great pleasure of my life. Congratulations on a superb year - and if you'd ever think of posting the "list of sites not to be missed" that Amy Spada @aspada mentions, that gift would be the best ever knowing that visitors would then have your insider's artistic eye as a guide! Best to you, MIchael.
Awesome Finale Michael & a huge Congratulations! It's been a joy following your journey & having my passion with NYC reignited by your amazing shots! Good luck with all your endeavors & see you here or on Flickr :) FAV!
Words cannot express how much I enjoyed your photos this past year, Michael. You are truly an artist. I'm so happy to hear you'll be posting on a leisurely basis. I will need to do that next yr. myself to make time for other projects with my photos. I love the video....that must have taken a great deal of time to put together. Naturally it is a huge fav!
Congratulations on 365 Michael! It's been an honor to be able to see brilliant images you capture. You have an amazing talent for capturing everyday life around you. Looking forward to see more fantastic photos. :-)
Congratulations and so well done!! I have loved seeing NYC through your "eyes", I am such a city girl at heart and have been blown away by your awesome photography! It has been an honor to follow you. Best of luck to you in everything you do.
Congratulations! :-) When I joined 2 months ago today, your picture from June 1 was one of the reasons I decided to be brave and try to do my own year-ful of pictures. Thanks for inspiring me! And I look forward to seeing what your photographic eye catches over this next year!
@friendie - Thank you Carole very much. Yeah NYC is a love it or hate it place. Glad I was able to change some minds out there. For photography its like a kid in a candy shop!
@bonniebouman - Thx Bonnie very much. Always thought it a bit odd that there were not more 365ers from the City? And thx for noting the difficulty it can be shooting here - dealing with crowds, traffic, fast pace have been challenging. Often once I get all set I just wait for all the tumblers to fall into place and snap quick before my scene changes.
Michael I have been so honored to view your project and to have received your comments on mine. You have been so inspirational to me. I look at your photos and hope that one day, I'll be able to take shots like them (just need a better camera I think!). I'll be standing in line to buy that book you can be sure and wish you all the success and joy from photography that every snap can hold! So glad you''ll be sticking around to keep our dreams alive and allow us to see both the magical and gritty sides of NYC through your awesome lens. And one last thing- Go Big Blue!
@ellimae - Ellen you give me such amazing support and your genuine senitments really have encouraged me and I thank you so very much. At some point my followers exploded and it became impossible to keep up. So I didn't really rely on a follow list and instead just jumped all over on names I'd see, pics that caught my and people who commented on mine and tried to get as many as I could. You're such a wonderful person and I love the beautiful color in your photos so I always tried to make a point to check in :-) I look forward to more. Thx for getting my NY style - oxox.
Congratulations on finishing your project, particularly in such a great way. I want to thank you for ringing back to me what I liked about NYC, with its great scenes and views. Looking forward for more in year 2 :)
Awesome video Michael! It's been an inspiration to follow your project from early on and to cross the finish line at around the same time. I look forward to your second year and going for more photo safaris with you in the future. You are truly an incredible photographer and ambassador of the city.
@aspada - So I finally got this darn thing to work! Thank you Amy very much for being a wonderful friend here. I really did throw myself completely into this project and my one rule was to keep shooting for a pic to post that I loved and never give in (ok maybe thats two rules). You have been a great inspiration to me and I've learned a great deal from your pics and our chats. I think you can see some of you in certain types of my pics. Thx so much for being part of all this and talk to you soon. And if you do get back to NYC plan on shooting together for sure! Lastly hopefully we'll get that Disney deal for Alvin ;-)
Congratulations Michael and thanks for all amazing work that you've shared with this community. You have a great talent and I wish you all best in your new endeavors!!!
@andycoleborn - Thx very much mate - you've always got your handy I-Phone. How's the street action with Olympics and all over there? You were one of my first follows. When I started I remember seeing how many pics you had on your albums and marveled thinking I'd never get to accumulate that many - well time goes by and this is fun. See you around Andy.
@denisedaly - Thx very much Denise and yes I will continue in a certain capacity. And I've always loved your amazing flower shots. When ever I've attempted a few I would think of them and then go shoot a building :)
Hi Michael!!!!!! Long time no chat:) I logged into my fb this am and noticed @hjbenson had posted a link to your amazing video finale. I had a good ol' reminiscing session of some of my fave photos - so had to drop by for one last fav and just to say congratulations! Consistently brilliant work by a consistently brilliant photographer. I hope you continue to be carried away by your work and it takes you somewhere you never expected. I miss our back and forth comments every day (most days we were fav'ing each other's shots at the same time, lol) - but I've gotten kind of immersed in the photography world myself and find little time for 365'ing anymore. Pickle and I send you a great big hug and a kiss for all your support throughout my project and I hope to see you in person in NYC or my city one day. If you've got an email I can get in touch with you at, I'd love to have it!
Congratulations, Michael. Terrific video for your 365th day. I have absolutely loved looking at your wonderful pictures including NYC. It is such an amazing place and you are such a great photographer. I'm so glad you will continue to share your pictures here when you can.
@sparkle - Juliette thank you so very much. As I mentioned on the thread you were my first follow and were kind enough to give a newbie like me the time of day. I recall that I hoped to be able to take photos like yours and I still marvel at your pics. The way you've juggled a demanding career and photography has also been inspiring to me, as I'm in the same boat. And when the US deems you no longer a threat (haha) and you come back we will certainly do lots of shots and also shots - if you know what I mean. I tell you there are times I'm tempted to skip across the pond and join up with your posse. Thx again old friend ;-)
@pwallis - Wow Paula in the house! I was just telling someone recently that I missed you. Yes there were many times we'd be faving each other similtaneously. Miss chatting too. I would love to hear all about what you're doing with your photography these days, as I too move to the "next" stage - what ever that is (yes has been and is an amazing and unexpected journey). Thank you so much for checking back. I really appreciate it and means a lot. Will send you my email :-)
Congratulations, Michael!!! I have loved following your project and am glad to hear you are going to continue! Love your work and sure look forward to seeing more of your amazing work!!
Congratulations, Michael Elliot! We have the same initials. We didn't follow each other but I did follow your meteoric trajectory thru the Popular Page and the Top 20 and admired your masterful images of a city I Iove and miss with all my heart. A book of your work would have a place of honor in my collection of NYC photography tomes so please, keep us posted on developments. You were kind enough to take the time to comment on some of my humble shots - I sincerely thank you for that. Glad to know you'll still be around. Your video is fantastic and a Fav for sure.
Congratulations Michael!!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us and for being a great guy. You're one of the people that has been so inspirational and supportive for my own photographic journey (even though I shoot barns and grain silos and you shoot skyscrapers LOL). I still say you are in league with Jay Maisel. You are one of my favorite current artists and am so glad you'll be around in some capacity while I continue my 365 journey (which is only halfway there). keep us posted on the website and book and whatever else your artistic hands find to do... I want to continue following your work outside of 365.
Congrats Michael it's such a great feeling isn't it. Have loved your shots and it has been great to see NYC again but from a different view, you have really brought it to life. Your slide show worked well and was a great idea to finish on. You have such a natural "eye", I am sure we will be seeing and hearing more about you in the future. Lastly I too thank you for looking and commenting on some of my shots, always amazed that you managed to do so with your all your followers, it was much appreciated. Nice to see that you are going to keep going, will keep checking you out!
Congratulations! It has been fantastic to see New York city through your eyes. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us. I look forward to seeing what masterpieces you will create this next year. Well done!
Oh, Michael what does one say, that hasn't already been put to word here? Your work is amazing! I love how you capture the mood and embrace the totality of each shot! I am so glad to hear you will be continuing on for round two even though at a limited presence. Congrats to you on finishing your first project, well done!
Beautiful beautiful work Michael!!! Absolutely fantastic project you had and was a pleasure watching and following. Congratulations on the completion, huge achievement for sure!!! Fav
Congrats, Michael! It has been an absolute pleasure to follow you. Thank you for all your fantastic photos from NYC (and the others as well). Thank you for being such a wonderful human. I often remenber our meeting in NY. Congratulation from Hubert too.
It makes me happy, that you will start a second year. I'm looking forward to your book and the pics on a "leisurely basis". BTW this collage is stunning and a FAV for me again.
Congratulation and well done. I hope you stick around as you're one of the best photographers around to follow and learn from. You have so many amazing shots, every one so beautifully done.
Well done on nearly completing a year (366 days in this one) :D
It has been a pleasure looking at your photos and I am glad you are sticking round. Here's to another year.
Well done sir, I don't comment all the time but often view your and am mesmerised by some of your night scapes. Good luck with the personal projects in the pipeline
Congratulations ona truly awsome project. Your photos have been so inspiring, I have looked forward to opening my project each day to see what you have uploaded and you certainly are a tremendous ambassador for NYC - I am definitely going to put it on the top of my bucket list. Hope you continue to "drop in" occasionally and I look forward to that book when you do it! The videa was wonderful and yet another fav!
@webfoot - Thanks Paul. Very much appreciated. And to all of the above I have read your comments and am overwhelmed with joy and amazement. I never knew I touched so many people. Will be getting back to you all.
@summerfield - hahaha yes feeling very fabulous. I'm pretty overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from all. Thank you for all your funny remarks and I'm glad I turned you into wanting to visit NYC, but is NYC ready for you? :-)
@veekay - Thank you so much Vicki. You changed your logo and I got confused :-) I've always loved viewing your pics too. I had no idea I touched so many and feels great I did something positive for people. I've also been inspired and learned from so many of them too.
Teary eyed and so happy that I got to know and follow you from the beginning, Michael. You're the kind of person who was always so passionate and excited about photography. And it was catching! I finally started to feel the same way about the camera. Your "magic iPhone" photos were brilliant ... yes, I remember each and every one of them. You rocked your dslr to the limits. And, one of the best things about you is that you always took the time to answer any question that I asked you (never laughed at all the stupid ones!) You got me to push myself more everyday ... until I finally went from the p&s to the dslr. You're my friend. Truly. And you're a genius at your art. I look forward to your return. And I wish you and your family the best always. FAV.
@sparkleplenty1 - Thank you very much Joyce for always commenting on my pics. I enjoyed our chats and checking yours out too. You did a great project! Yes you're right it was emotional to go through the entire year and select pics for this slide show. Brought back a lot of memories. I tell ya I got a story behind each one of them. I can honestly say that I never just snapped pics, but first thought about what I saw and tried to absorb the atmosphere and how it made me feel. So yes a lot of feelings. Definitely need a little break and be back! :-)
@lindag - Thank you very much Linda - so sweet of you to say. There are so many good people on this site and I love that while we all come from different places and bkgds we all get along so swimmingly. Given the time and numbers it was impossible for me to get back to everyone each day (I remember when I had like 50 followers). But I so appreciate everyone and did my best to circulate and return the good wishes I got from so many. :-)
@catsmeowb - Thx so much Camille. We've known each other a while here. I was always so impressed by you and others like you (Karenann and MM come to mind) that took the time to really talk to people in a meaningful way instead of the quick "nice pic". That inspired me to try to do the same as much as I could. :-)
@lyno - Thank you so much Lyn. You are a very sweet person and your involvement in 365 is wonderful. Yes that list I want to do and adding it to my list of things to do - haha :-)
Most beautiful slide show I've ever seen. Your photos have been an absolute highlight of my having joined 365. I am totally in awe. Congratulations on completing your project, and thank you for sharing your incredible talent with the rest of us. You're amazing.
@karenann - Karenann my dear sweet friend yes I still remember the good ole days and the magic I-Phone. I can't believe how time as gone by. And its been a joy going by with you. As I mentioned to Camille above, you always took the time to have an honest and meaningful conversation and I really appreciated that. And I've enjoyed watching you blossom in your photography. I look forward to seeing you to your 365 :-)
@numinee - Thank you so much Sally for such kind words. That means a lot and I very much appreciate it. Its been fun chatting and viewing pics. More to come :-)
@cimes1 - Thank you very much Carole. You're always so delightful to chat with. It was a lot of work as I adjusted the movement in each pic and ordering and music, but definitely time consuming because I'm so bad with computers and technology :-)
@bernicrumb - Thank you Berni. Yes 6/1 was the Mall in Central Park. I've shot that so many times before, but was never happy with the lighting, placement of people and other things in my way. That time though it all worked out. I've learned that sometimes we got to keep going back over a shot until we get what we want from it. Best wishes on your journey :)
@chriswang - Thx very much Chris. Its been great going through this together about the same time. Always appreciated hearing from you so close to the action (NYC). And yes we will definitely get together again for more shooting. So much of the city to cover and re-cover! Hope all is well :)
Fav!
We have been blessed to have your photos on 365; you are a remarkable photographer. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Glad to read you will spend time creating a book! It will be a wonderful keepsake for you (and a bit of income if you decide to sell it).
All the best to you, your wife, and your children.
@meisen325 - Thank you so much ME for all those kind and thoughtful words. Much appreciated. When my numbers got too big I sort of didnt use the follow thing and instead just tried my best to comment back and jump all over to get to other pics. Glad I got to see yours from time to time and happy to bring you NYC :-)
@jsw0109 - Thank you very much Jeff. Those are some big compliments and I appreciate them. You're a guy with a big heart and a lot of enthusiasm and your "barn and silo" shots rock! Its been fun following each other, love your work and look forward to more! :-)
Thank you so much Michael for letting me use you and your works for this week's challenge! Just to sum up the reasons... I find your work very artistic, bold, confident, ingenious use of angle and DOF, great sense of colors, ,very skillful use of the tools (camera and lenses and editing tools), and you see things most people miss. :-) Thank you again!
Michael, congratulations on getting to 365 and for this wonderful video of so many wonderful photos that you shot. I only wish I had been there closer to the beginning of your project. Thank you so much as I have mentioned before, for sharing NYC with me and so many others. It is a place I would not have seen and always wanted to and thoroughly enjoyed what I saw through your eyes. Even if I were there to visit it would not be the same as what you shared with us, especially those places you had not ventured to until 365. I missed seeing the raccoon in your video at the park but will not forget. We chatted back and forth at one point and I got to know you a little better. When you commented on a photo of mine for the first time I was so happy that you would actually stop by. You are an amazing person and I am so glad to have met you on here, in a place where we all share the same passion, photography and wish you the best of luck and look forward to more of your photos and the day you say your website is up. FAV
Hi Michael, Congratulations! What a year you've had!
I love all of your photo's, as you know. I've fav-ed so many of them, I think I can make my own video with fav's ;-) Can't wait to see them all in a book...
And I always loved to read your answers and comments, thank you for that. This is an amazing community, don't you think?
I'm glad you'll continue here, you're such an inspiration. i hope you will find joy in year 2, because the second year really is for you. I was struggling with that concept, but I think I've found my balance in it now (after three quarters of a year). But I wouldn't miss this site for the world, because of all the amazing talent, like you.
I hope to see more of your city-scapes, because they're just amazing.
Fav!
Congratulations on completing your project! You have inspired so many people with your fantastic shots, I think that's an amazing achievement. This video is such a great showcase of your work. It's good to know you'll be around for Year 2! 8)
Just finsihed watching this amazing video. Why does it almost move me to tears, because the city holds so many childhood memories, because you make even the harshest envirnment look amazing.....I don't know but I am so glad you are staying around. Thank you for your inspiration and the sharing of your city.
Congratulations Michael so glad your wife encouraged you to join the project. Now that you have honed those skills (not that they ever needed refining as far as I can see) I do hope that we will see a lot more of your photos here in the not too distant future. I would love to buy a copy of your book when it hits the shelves in Australia.
Congrats Michael! You are a true artist. I always enjoy your shots, I just regret I don't have the time to view them and comment more often. Thanks for staying!
Congratulations Michael! All of your photos are stunning! You are a truly amazing photographer and I wish you continued success in whatever you do. Loved the video!
Wow! Congratulations on completing your first 365 Michael! I have loved looking at your project and seeing New York through your lens! Thank you for sharing your talent and wonderful images with us! Fabulous video too! Fav!
@shirljess - Thank you Shirley much appreciated. And yes the "mood" of a shot was always one of the most important aspects for me. See you around 365 land :)
@adeakinyede - thanks Ade so much. I always appreciated your support and I tried to check out your project when I could. I really like you challenge yourself and try new things and look forward to seeeing more.
@noragentian - Hi Ruth and thank you very much for your kind remarks and appreciated your support. It was also a pleasure to have met you and Hubert and walk around the City a bit together :)
@ulpiphotos - Thank you Ulpi very much. You've given me such great support on my project and I've enjoyed your beautiful pics from lovely Iowa. Keep 'em coming and see you around :-)
@johnnyfrs - Hi John, thx so much. Its been great following each other and I very much appreciated your support. I always enjoyed your fab pics from London and will see you around.
@azza_l - Thx Aaron very much appreciated. I think I got good at the night shots because for a long part of my project I would only have time to shoot at night. With all the colorful bright city lights, night time is where its at here anyway. Thx again :)
@judithdeacon - Thank you Judith. Yyou've given me such great support over my project and been wonderful to chat with. I enjoyed checking out each others pics and more to come. Thx again and glad you liked the video :-)
Michael, Congratulations! This slide show exemplifies the breadth of your photographic abilities and incredible gift for seeing the world in your own unique way. It's been daunting following your work, but also exhilarating. I look forward to your website and book! And I hope you stay in touch with us.
Yea I found my work peaked in how good they were when I started shooting at night. But life soon takes over, work, gym , the cold nights, lack of locations not living in a city. ...and then it went shit! Haha. Any way nice one again.

@lwain - Thx Lindy very much. Yes she nudged me to join because I would wonder why she was always on her computer and why so many stops for pics (outsiders really don't get the dedication of what it takes to get to 365) so she got me to join up. My first pic was a goof too thinking I wouldn't really continue .... Well 365 later! Thx again.
@scatcat - Thank you very much. Yeah the time commitment to circulate around on top of everything else is tough. But we do what we can - much appreicated :)
A beautiful video to finish up with, Michael - congratulations on completing the year. I have been so inspired by your work - I'm glad you will continue and I'll keep an eye out for your posts.

@michaelelliott Thanks for the acknowledgement, getting up early is a life-long habbit. Started when I was 10 and had to milk the two cows before walking an hour to school.
@michaelelliott Totally true Michael, we were imigrants to Australia in 1950 and as the oldest of 6 at that time (later grew to 8), there were always plenty of jobs to do. We lived quite remote from the town and it was the only way to get to school.
Congrats on a fantastic year. You reconnected with photography in a BIG way. You have so much talent and I am sure you will find success. Your photos have inspired many people.

@trude - Thank you so much Trude. You know besides Juliette (sparkle) you too are one of the original people I followed when I started. Thx for sharing the journey with me :-)
You have always been such an inspiration Michael! :) Congrats on completing the project! At one point I was really bored with my own photos and my husband asked if I should get a new and better camera. And then I stumbled upon your photos and seeing that we both use the Nikon D5100 I told my husband -- see you can take VERY COOL pictures with this camera. I guess I just need to experiment more and experience more. :) Continue to bring us your amazing photos!!
@zeldacheung - Thanks Zelda thats very cool of you to say. Much appreciated. Yes I love the 5100 you can do so much with it and it does take great shots. Just keep trying to look at things differently and play with a few different lenses.
Many, many congratulations Michael on completing your first 365... the video was amazing to watch and such a wonderful finale. I am just sorry that due to circumstances I was not always such a dedicated follower... and missed a lot of your amazing works of art. However I am hopefully getting back on course and will catch up with you on year two. Wishing you every success with your book and other projects.... So glad you decided to do a year two... you would be very much missed. ♥♥
@aromatic - Thx very much Jane for checking out my 365 year in review video. Happy you enjoyed it and its been fun sharing pics (when we can ;-) me too having hard time keeping up just way too many and not enough time. See you around the next round.
I have been off 365 for a bit, unable to post, and just now getting back on it. Really enjoy all your photos and even when I can't make it to NYC each year I feel as if I am there with your wonderful photos.
Huge congrats on completing your 365!! And what an amazing and inspiring 365 it has been!! Sorry haven't been around much to comment or post so just catching up on this now. Absolutely incredible what you achieved in that year and glad to see you're hanging around for another one. Can't tell you how much I've learned about composition from your shots!
@michellegaynor - thx very much. I see you have a lot of photos too. Funny we never bumped into each other. So many wonderful people I had to continue. Thx for the follow.
@wardie - Thx very much Paul I really appreciate it. Funny that people are still finding this and looking back on it. Makes the effort I made to create it worth while.
@shirljess - Yes be happy to. I created the slides how on my Mac Book using I-Movie. Lots of options. I used the Ken Burns option and customized the movement within each individual photo after placing them in order. As for soundtrack I used Audioshare database on YouTube so no copyright issues.
Congratulations! You are a gifted photographer and what great memories you made with your sons and wife during all of the photo detours you took! You are making a book! Yay! can't wait to see it.
@megmills - Thank you Meg I very much appreciate that. I got the music off the copyright free catalogue offered by You Tube. The artist is Brightwings and dont know name of song. Catchy tune.
Congratulations!!! I followed you with my previous account and have always loved your photographs. I haven't viewed your slideshow yet, but I'm fav'ing it and I'll view it after this post, as I know it will be fabulous!

It makes me happy, that you will start a second year. I'm looking forward to your book and the pics on a "leisurely basis". BTW this collage is stunning and a FAV for me again.
Wonderful images! Love all of them Fav for an amazing show!

Glad to read you will spend time creating a book! It will be a wonderful keepsake for you (and a bit of income if you decide to sell it).
All the best to you, your wife, and your children.
Fav!
