Dont ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive - Harold Whitman.

Wow! What a great little bridge. I think I would come alive walking along there. I can imagine the noise from the water tumbling down the rocks would be very therapeutic.

This is so beautiful, Michelle! I think I would just sit underneath that tree on the right and read a book, listening to the water flowing over the rocks. How relaxing and peaceful!

Hey you need a buddy and a challenge?
posted August 21st, 2012
@chewyteeth Hey Dave.. I would love a buddy for this week :) Are you up for a challenge?
posted August 21st, 2012
Well my original challenger did reply in the end, but I can handle it. Bring it. My challenge to you is this. I want a street scene. But a specific one, I know you've done one. I want a black and white street scene. Taken at night. Making the most between contrasts, bright light and dark road/ sky. If you don't have a tripod you'll have to use a flat surface. And is like to see vehicles and movement too.
posted August 21st, 2012
@chewyteeth I will give it a go, though I cannot make any promises, as it is after 11pm before it gets dark in this part of Scotland at the moment. I will have a look through your shots and come up with an idea for you :)

@michelleyoung
wtf 11pm.
Do you want a different one? I've got shitloads.
posted August 21st, 2012
@chewyteeth If you dont mind?... during summer hours it dont get dark until gone 11pm and dawn is around 3 am up here lol

@michelleyoung

okay, so you have a potential model in the shape of your daughter, but she don't like being photographed, so think outside the box. Sum her up in a portrait, but it doesn't have to have her face/eyes included in it. It doesn't even have to have her in it. But it has to be something that when you see that picture again in years to come, or when close members of your family see it, they would immediately think of her.
;)
posted August 21st, 2012
A tough one, sure you don't wanna get up at 3am?
posted August 21st, 2012
@chewyteeth I like the sound of that :) i think it will be interesting to look outside of the box and the things that represent her.

As for getting up at 3am.. I prefer the rare occasion of climbing into bed at that time, never the ones when i am crawling out of it lol

Nice composition - love that gate too

I'm jealous of this flowing-water shot. The short, multiple "falls" are very soothing and smoothing of a longer exposure is just what the scene demands!
