Water Lily in Hiding by milaniet

Water Lily in Hiding

While shooting the tiger swallowtail at this small lake, I glanced over and noticed this one water lily. As best I could see it was the only one - at least on my side of the lake. I couldn't get a clear shot of it for the longest time, but kept crawling around to get between brush in the water and finally got two nice shots. Tickled with the lighting. Good thing I don't think about water critters very often.
Unusual angle for a water lily capture, brings a new perspective. I agree with the lighting, just perfect. Fav

This is a really beautiful photo, quite elegant. The plant is a lotus and not a water lily. That little plug in the center is the giveaway. Here is more information about the Lotus http://easywildflowers.com/quality/ner.lute.htm

@nanm Thanks for the information, Nancy. You can see how much I know! If it was in the water, just assumed it was a water lily. Now I've learned better.
