I Love Hoar Frost by milaniet

I Love Hoar Frost

Some of the first hoar frost I've managed to catch - the leaf looks almost like Christmas with its colors.
Awesome shot, great detail :)

Great shot Milanie. What constitutes hoar frost?

@terryliv Hoar frost is really just very large ice crystals. Usually is needs a nearby source of water, so I usually find it near the creek, but this was in a ditch. You need both the cold temperatures and the moisture in the air to form hoar frost.

The frost contrasts brilliantly with the colors on this little leaf. I love it when hoar frost develops with fog. EVERYTHING's covered in ice crystals.
