Hunting a Tasty Morsel - or Just Making Holes for Fun!

This juvenile (I think) yellow bellied sapsucker was awfully busy working on my poor pecan tree. It has enough holes without his extra assistance.
Great shot. Have wondered if they do just do it for fun, or if there was a purpose to making those holes.

Wow! What a great shot! He’s beautiful. Hopefully it doesn’t cause any real damage to your pecan tree.

Great shot. How do you find so many different birds? And this guy is so well camouflaged.
