These cedar waxwings don't stay long - had a flock through today that let me get a few shots. Wish I could have avoided the shadows, but they didn't like a whole lots of movement from me. He has pretty red markings on the wing tips on the bottom of his wings that don't show here.
FAV. This is the most beautiful shot of a waxwing I have seen --- ever! You did a great job. There is so much color in the shot. On my 50th birthday (March) a huge flock of about 60 landed in my yard and spent the day. It was the best gift that I have ever gotten.
@falcon11 Thank you for the wonderful compliment, Allison. I was just fascinated sitting there on the ground. There were quite a few of them (not as many as you had!) but enough to thoroughly enjoy. I was so surprised at those red markings that showed up in the other shots I took.
