I thought these would be easy to identify because of the fern like leaves - couldn't find them. Would love to know if anyone else knows what they're called. Not many down by the creek.
The leaves look like those of a plant belonging to the mimosa family but the flowers aren't right as far as I can tell from Google Images.

What a beautiful flower....it is a "partridge-pea"...either showy or sensitive!! Both are found in your neck of the woods! I really like how you captured the light on them.
