Thinking this is an Empid....a flycatcher like a Least Flycatcher, or possibly a Phoebe, though I think one of the Empids is most likely. Beautiful capture of it...the background really sets it off.
@mjalkotzy I looked that least flycatcher up and believe you're right - I hadn't paid attention to the difference in the eyes. I've never seen one before and I did recognize that it was much smaller. Thanks for the identification!
@lynnb Thank you both for knowing what it was - I had never heard of the least flycatcher - that's neat! A new one for me. And I'll pay more attention to those eyes.
I'm taking the chance to catch up on my comments and have been so surprised with the range of birds you have around your home - I had never really considered the range and indeed the colours of birds in the US. Many thanks for sharing these with us. I am learning all the time!
