Obviously this bird was the loser - but I'm not sure to what. His feathers were quite large - and loads of them scattered. Further than I usually walk so I don't know how long they'd been there.

Gosh yes I wonder what it belonged to? .... amazing ice crystals too ... reminds me of finding little wings from the fledglings last summer after a fox had predated them on the beach ... nature can be cruel but so fascinating :)
