Actually, the deep was a ditch. Spotted this lone daffodil as I was driving - had to back up, park on the side of the road, and walk back to get this daffodil shot. What a different looking flower.

I guess it was an escapee from someone's garden, it looks like a cultivated variety. Interesting find and capture; the formation of the inner petals make it look almost as if they're writhing.

It's probably one of those newer hybrids they grow in green houses. How it got in a ditch is up to the imagination. You have good eyes to have seen it! Pretty shot. I love that burst of yellow.
