Stopped at the Nature Center on the way home from buying a new laptop (so confused) but there were no butterflies anywhere. Just as I was leaving I turned to look back in the woods where they had hung some feeders and there was this beautiful painted bunting - first I've caught this year.
How exciting! What an amazingly colorful bird. (I went looking for butterflies today too but only saw one and it was in hyper-mode, too excited about something to ever sit on a flower.)
What a magnificent bird, and lucky you to snap a beautiful picture of this one! I love being able to clearly see the seeds it is eating — even the few that have dropped from its beak!
