Sharing a Story

Technically, this isn't my shot obviously. The waitress took it. This picture is of one of my former students (2nd year I taught) whom I had not seen in 51 years. I'd followed his career through the news - he's now Asst. Supt. of one of our larger school districts. They moved the year after I taught him and there was always something special about him. What a lovely lunch we had.
What a treat it has to be to still be in touch with a former student and know how their life progressed after graduating out of your classroom. And how nice to get to see this picture of you!

That is a great story! I agree with Denise- it must be really special to see a student go on to do as well as he has. And it's a very nice shot of the two of you!

So lovely that you are still in touch, Milanie -- your photo shows a nice bond! I am also in touch with some of my former students, from as long ago as about 35 years ago!

This is terrific -- to be in touch and connected to students from so long ago! I suspect the ones I had in elementary school would not remember me -- this says so much of your relationship to your students.

How nice! Teachers touch so many lives in such a positive way and often never know the impact they have had.
