Can Leaves Be Soft?

For some reason, these leaves looked soft and silky to me - don't know what kind of weed or plant it was from - not many like it near by, but it caught my eye for his gentleness.

Beautiful. Here in New Zealand it looks very similar to what I know as "cutty grass" for obvious reasons, the grass is pretty cruel and does tend to leave small cuts on your bare legs, and that is the seed pods from it. Its a noxious weed here, hoping it is not cutty grass nor get established if it is. Love the grace of the curve,
