Just a thought: Water is usually a fairly easy subject to clone. You might want to try extending the image out to the right, cloning some of the water from the left side of the frame, and then creating a new crop with more leading space in front of the bird. Framing on in-flight shots is always a bit hit-and-miss, but in this case, it should be fairly easy to "fix".
