Miami: Old and New

photo 224
Last pic in my Miami series... I liked the contrast between the old and the new here.

The yellow tower on the left is called the Freedom Tower, and is a famous landmark in Miami. It used to be home to The Miami News (a newspaper no longer in existence), and later became a memorial to Cuban immigration - the building is where the massive wave of Cuban immigrants were processed in the 1960's, after Fidel Castro came to power.

It's now part of Miami Dade College, which uses it as a cultural center, and as a place to hold art exhibitions.
