Poise by miraries

This is another sculpture in the Docklands - there's about 28 of them and of course I only managed to see a few of them. Made from toughened safety glass and LED lighting within a steel frame, Poise is shimmering and crystalline by day and glowing blue by night. As it was a bit cloudy that day, there was no shimmer and I would like to return one night just to see it glowing blue.

According to the artist, Warren Langley, “It would appear that
every culture has within its mythology a sacred vessel. These vessels are variously perceived as receptacles of something precious, whether spiritual intent or otherwise. Here, the precarious
position of the vessel speaks of the delicate state of balance."

That's why the vessel is teetering & trying to gain poise - that's what I inderstood anyway.
This is a beauty. Very fine photo, Miriam, and perfect theme shot.

That is so neat. Reminds you of a globe that perhaps fell off a light post :)

I love your close up shots of these sculptures and the big round hay bale. I try to take the bales and find it hard to capture the way they really look. Nice shots and interesting information to explain the photo.
