Nasturtium by miraries

Such a bright cheery creeper, I made sure I didn't pull out most of them when we were tidying up the other day.

Has anybody tried them in their salad? It's got a slight peppery taste & sure makes the salad more colourful.

Am posting early for my 2 albums as we are going for a few days to the Mornington Peninsula for some boating, fishing and bonding with my sisters and to welcome the New Year, of course.

Hopefully I will be able to take heaps of interesting photos there.

My experience is that you can pull them up when the flowers are finished and they self seed for next year. They grow in a steep rook garden a our place.

Beautiful shot - and yes! We love them in salad! (the leaves are tastey, too!)

My experience is that these are hard to get rid of & spread readily. I have them coming up in part of my yard that I pulled them all up 4 years ago. You have to pull them out before they go to seed. I still have quite a few. I eat the leaves, mostly when I'm doing yard work, haven't tried the flowers. Nice pic of these orange ones.

@molizard Around where I live they are annuals as the frost gets them.

@cmt2812 @cglist @fluffy @indiannie_jones @farmboy9155 @redcarh @jodogz @digitalrn @maggie2 @molizard thanks I can imagine that they can get out of hand. I didn't klnow you can eat the leaves too & my sister tells me now it's a certain variety of flowers which have browny centers that is edible.
