Dreaming of tea

264 / 365
This is my first attempt at using layers on PSE and trying to create an @mariyakey style photo.
I don't seem to have worked out how to really cut things out properly yet though as the tea cups look very cut and paste. :(
I took the sparkle background from deviantart.

Very good effort, when you cut the objects try feathering the outline, that will take out the harshness of the object you are trying to paste :)

@johnmnewman Thanks for the advice. :) I'll give that a go next time. I can only assume that they look worse because they were against a black background, whereas I was against cream, as I used the same technique to cut everything.

@fishy I'm not even sure what the quick selection tool is! :( I used the lasso thingy and had to try about 10 times as I kept going wrong and couldn't work out how to just delete on point rather than the whole thing. It then took another 10 minutes to work out how to actually cut it out once I'd got a wobbly line around the outside. :( Why does nothing electrical these days actually come with a full instruction manual? Mind you, it's been quite good fun using trial and error to work out what all the filters do. :)
