Leaves changing already?

I saw this tree while we were taking a walk last evening and was surprised to see leaves changing colors on it already. It seems way too early for that. I wonder why. We've had plenty of rain. I wonder if it is stressed somehow? It did look pretty, though.

It can have several reasons. To hot, to dry but sure also to wet. Maples don`t like to grow in wet ground. Love the colors.

Looks like a red maple? Our red maples are red when the leaves are new.

Lovely shot Marilyn, I've seen a tree or two changing around here also - and we've had enough rain that I'm thinking about looking for two of everything to put in the boat!!

I remember looking at this picture and double checked it again (as I always do when I'm catching up) and noticed my comment is missing.
I remember saying what with the cool nights we are experiencing already the fall colors are starting early this year.

Beautiful capture. Love the changing colors. Some of our trees are changing color too and we only had 4 rain storms since last Fall. My husband says it is the time of year. I thought it was early too.
