Nobody's home by mittens

Nobody's home

This house has seen better days. I took a picture of this house quite awhile back when there was more of it but can't find it now in my archives.
This is so sad. It's a good capture of what once was. Marilyn, did you get much snow from this storm?

@essiesue Thank you Sue. We got about 6 inches of snow here and it has finally stopped. It's still clinging to the trees so it is still beautiful looking.

We haven't talked to our daughter in Chadds Ford and are wondering what they received. I don't think you are near there though.

I love this image. I can imagine the house around it.

Sounds like you got enough snow to be pretty but not so much that it incapacitates you. Really interesting shot - like the old brick against the snow.

Great shot. Love the step leading to nothing. Also the layer of snow add something to the picture

The steps still look inviting...not sure what you'd be stepping into but inviting nonetheless. Hope you're weathering the storms ok, Marilyn.

Although sad, I do like derelict buildings, their history and great for photographing :) I was photographing some derelict boat houses I discovered on a loch today :)

It seems that if any part of a house is left standing, it's always the chimney!!! I love to explore these old fallen down places and wonder who lived there and why it's gone and what stories did it hold. This is sad because there is snow on it. The snow makes it cold, lonely looking, uncared for and sad!! At least in the spring and summer therre are weeds and flowers and colors in it. Awesome composition and POV! The stairs going up into it are really cool! FAV!
