Ringed turtle doves by molizard

Ringed turtle doves

These 2 were sitting on a wire down at the beach. I have this bird in my yard but haven't been able to get a picture of one. Originally from Asia & kept domestically(caged), they have escaped captivity. Having established themselves in southern California(& probably elsewhere), they're not considered a problem(that I'm aware of)
Great Capture!

@ladydi I saw one the other day, in my yard, gathering nesting material(?) by him/herself. But usually I see them in pairs. They nest in my paperbark eucalyptus tree.

Lovely pic. Yes, they do look like my Spotted Turtle Dove; same gentle look but different markings around the neck. Ours were introduced from Asia in the 1860s apparently and they have spread far and wide in the wild. They are one of the most dominant birds in our district as they nest in the local trees all year round, whereas parrots, cockatoos and magpies tend to come and go with the seasons.
