Another unknown?

Couldn't get a clear pic of this one. Hoping someone could help me ID it. I'm guessing Sharp Shinned or Merlin, both found in my area.
It appears to be a sharp shin from what I see(checked my field guide),Great capture!

By the way, with your interest in plants, etc., you might like to have a look at Amanda's calendar at http://365project.org/corymbia/365/2010-12-08. The one she's posted today is the same as mine but in a deep red variation.

Great shot-such large "owl-like" eyes. A new bird to me. Very nice!

judging by those skinny legs I'd say thats an immature Sharp-shinned Hawk. Very cool shot! That eye is amazing!

Gorgeous feathers! Awesome to get such a close up. I tried hard to get a shot of a red-tailed hawk today, as it was flying overhead, but without a zoom lens, it's just not possible. I was disappointed, but at least I can see yours!

Whoa. Nice capture! Same with Roe Jan. His eyes are pretty and his soft touch of feathers!

Incredible! How do you get so close to the birds? I rarely get close enough to get a good photo.
