This is the bell tower of the church of our neighbour community.
On the walk to "our" place on the lake, where we go for a swim at or shortly after the sunset. (Today we had long working hours, and we have been late, so the sun was allready setting, halfway down to the lake).
I had some issues with my memory card today,... so I'm not totally happy with this pic, but glad that I have at least one to upload. A lot of the others are not readable. :-(
@maggiemae Hi Maggie.Yes of course! The bells are used to notify the time, every quarter hour, the call for the masses on Saturday and Sunday, and at special celebrations. On New Year's at midnight for example as it heralds the New Year.
Ok, there is this discussion because of the "noise" of the church bells (as well as cow bells) in Switzerland (debated mostly by foreigner living here), which means that in some big cities with several church bell towers are silent from midnight until the early morning. ;-)
Nice silhouette of the tower and bells against the red sky. In the little town where I grew up several of the churches marked noon and 6pm with bells. On Sundays they would often play a carillon. I miss that.
