Phoebe @aikimomm posted a couple of days ago a wonderful picture of a blooming artichoke, which at this point is not edible anymore. This inspired me, to buy some and have an artichokes dinner tonight. And so they make it in the project.
Interesting for me: The name artichoke as well as names in many European languages today, derive from medieval Arabic languages. This alien appearing word was influencing different folk myths. In older English texts for example appears the word “hartichoke” (heart – choke), which goes back to the popular belief, that if the “heart” of the artichoke would be eaten, it would lead to death by suffocation “choke”.
