2016-03-04 Sassolungo Group

On our last day here in the Dolomites, the day started with perfect weather ( at noon it changed and the sky covered up).

But I'm so glad to have the possibility to show you picturewise, what I (we) ove so much about the Dolomites and skking here. The view is imho outstanding. This is the Sassolungo Group, a 3181 m massif, that stand quite alone and was formed avout 230 million of years ago. I have take this picture from the "cità dei sassi" the city of stones 2240m, contemporary witnesses of a huge rock slide hundreds of years ago. In winter covered with snow, they look soft and nice, in summer, it is really like a little and rugged city of rocks. Great climbing and bouldering area, by the way.
This is stunning
