b) This “egg” is actually a carved and polished seed from the Tagua (Phytelepas Aequatorialis) tree. Tagua is also called Corozo or Cade. It is known as vegetable ivory, because of its colour, texture (extremely heavy and hard) and brightness when polished. It is like animal ivory, especially close to elephant ivory. The tree is similar to a palm tree wild growing and the seeds are harvested without ecological damage. My parents brought me this egg shaped carved seed, and a complete und raw crude form seed from their travels in Ecuador a week ago. Thanks Mum, Pa,...
c) Despite temperatures around freezing point, and cold rain or snow in the forecast, we will try to awake our old and shabby VW Camper (unfortunately not the classic one and without working heater) from hibernation. When the camper is ready to wake up and to start (which is never certain), we will go away for a few days. Where the wind blows us. I will catch up next week!
...actually...just looking back at your work...you're always on a roll...i'd LOVE to see your VW... even though it's not the classic one...they're all cool in their own right...hope you get to enjoy a wonderful few days...and big congrats for T20...well deserved...beautiful shot...as ever!... :o)
I love the white on white effect of this, and that extra bunny seen faintly in the background, fav. Interesting about the vegetable ivory. It used to be a common material used for making buttons.
PS: A very stylish capture for Easter. Well done. :)
Happy Easter! :-)
Love the white on white!
