I photographed it with the lensbaby and did later a lot of ETSOOIing in PSE. I’m not the SOOC person, but normally I just tweak the pictures a bit. Here is a lot more of post processing involved then usually. I removed all sailboats moored at the left side of the pier, they disturbed my sense of balance. But the person with the umbrella was really there.
@pistache Thanks Clare. These are manhole covers. (At least I think this is the english name for them). The pier is made of hollow and floating elements (rafts). I think these are access possibilities for maintenance.
The person on the end of the pier is perfectly placed and I too like the sense of balance you created in this fantastic image. Sorry to hear you've got more rain again, as this summer we are hoping for rain. It's been very hot and dry, not at all like it was last year at this time.
@aikimomm Thanks Phoebe. Your question. A lensbaby is a lens on a ball and socket mechanism for special-effect photography and is moveable. It has a sharp sweet spot of focus and the surroundings appear by gradual blur and bokeh. For me a lot of try and error and not only easy to handle, especially outdoors.
This is a picture, where you can maybe see the effect of my lens better. http://365project.org/mona65/365/2015-12-26
