I got some physalis (Physalis peruviana) today. They will most probably add some colour to a great dessert I will prepare on Sunday. The dessert is called "snow flurry."
I read that they are often called, 'cape gooseberry'. Your picture is fabulous - more like a gold leaf casing than the natural one! fav

@shepherdman At least they belong to the same family of nightshades. Some as this one are edible (Physalis peruviana) and some more ornamental garden plants (Physalis alkekengi) and there are people saying they are poisonous. But I'm not sure if this is true, I personally would not try it. But I'm not adventurous, when it comes to eating probably poisonous plants. (Or I'm never been hungry enough)
