2016-12-22 clove

N° lV in the Christmas spices series. A clove flower bud is put in the spotlight today. I use them to make a fragrance pomanders by sticking them into oranges. It looks that I’m reasonably traditional, exact one year ago I posted this picture with such a pomander. ;-) http://365project.org/mona65/365/2015-12-22

I read today that in Victorian England, such a pomander indicated warmth of feeling. Sending you all warm season’s greetings from Switzerland.

Its funny how cloves look so different close up - they have much more texture to them than you would see at first glance
