2017-02-06 witch hazel

Only a couple of days of milder weather and the witch hazel (hybrid Hamamelis intermedia of H. mollis and H. japonica) opens its delicate ribbonlike flowers. Here a picture in colour from two years ago. https://365project.org/mona65/365/2015-01-28 It's a magical plant! It relieves itches and bruises and the tiny flowers light up the the late winter. There are some plants I feel a special "connection". The witch hazel definitely is one of them, a lucky plant, and standing for friendship in my little world.
For the flashofred Feburary. Not really dedicated to a special technique, dedicated to friendship, and this has to be today.

A strong friendship doesn’t need daily conversation; doesn’t need togetherness. As long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part.

Fabulous image and lovely caption. I've never seen witch hazel before. I wonder if it will grow here in the Western Cape?

A very interesting plant and a wonderful capture as well.
PS: I agree true friends never part even when they are oceans apart. :)

Wonderful detail. I'll have to check out our witch hazel. Something so cheerful about it.

An odd looking plant and photographed perfectly to have the flower look like a claw. Love it!
