2017-04-04 good for you we have no digital scent internet (yet)

Every spring in our botanical garden the devil's tongue (Amorphophallus konjac) the little brother of the corpse plant or carrion flower sprouts its great and impressive flower. Only the flower head on the right is about 40-50cm.
Its odor, similar severe as the titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum) which is the the largest unbranched inflorescence in the world, is like the smell of a rotting carcass. Hence the name.
Wow! Extremely dramatic, we found something very similar but smaller growing wild on our walk on saturday in Moukhtara, Lebanon!

Oh my goodness. It is an unique bloom. Sounds like its not one to be planted in my garden, though. Thanks for sharing Mona.

How fascinating. (I wouldn't want to grow it in my garden though if it smells like rotting carcass), and I do agree I'm glad there is no digital scent yet!
