On a long hike along the Rhein River we had the joy to catch a glimpse of this beautiful family. A goosander (Mergus merganser) in North America a “common merganser” momma, with her chicks. We do not see goosanders often, and I never ever observed a hitch-hike like this. The chicks climbed on the back, changed place, enjoyed the view, fell off and tried to climb on again. When momma had enough she just shook them off, only to begin the game again. It was the cutest thing to observe. For me a moment of total happiness.
You've gotta be kidding! This is amazing! It makes me think of the plane that was saved on the Hudson River! Great capture. Fav and congrats on the TT!
