2017-05-12 there is always a first time

I did clean out a closet and found a long forgotten decorative sand pendulum. I stowed it away a long time ago because the pendulum was broken. Today I thought that it would be nice to have it in use again, and tried to repair it. So for the first time in my life I used a die and created the needed male screw thread. Means I threaded something!!! Yippeee! Worked quite well and the pendulum can be used again.

The bokeh on the steel splinters and the metallic glint of the die inspired me, to make the die the subject of my daily picture. To add some interest, one of the littel people looks at the die as confused as I was when I tried to figure out, how this works.

Conclusion of the day: you are never too old to learn something new.
Lovely shot and totally fascinating. Lots to hold the attention and keep ones eyes wandering around in the frame. Love your writeup about it. You are so clever being able to create a male screw thread!
