Another one from yesterdays sunset. This Grey Heron sits on the roof of the oil brigade boat shed. Thanks to its amazing adaptability, the Grey Heron has become a synanthropic species in recent times. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the Grey Heron was persecuted relentlessly so that it almost disappeared from Switzerland as a breeding bird. But now, these large grey birds can often be seen hunting for voles, frogs or fish in close proximity even to buildings, standing motionlessly ready to make a lightning strike at unsuspecting prey.
This one was pruning and shaking its feathers, at the days end. I loved that silhouette against the setting sun.
