2018-07-09 how to fort a river (not)

Just filling the travel gap,.. no need to comment. Just for the records.

I played the first time with a trial version of Corel Photo Mirage, and thought it was an idea to bring this composite picture to life.

This is the place where we had to cross the river and I fell in the water, and with me, my camera!!!!! We both got really soaked. I do not know how many rivers I crossed in my life, and for sure this was one of the easier crossings. But I was too nonchalent and did not pack the camera in a waterproof bag. Shame on me!

I was wet but well, though the camera did not like the bath. But after some good treatments and long days of patience from my side (and some prayers too), it is working ok again.

Treatment:
Removed the battery and the card immediately. Later in the camper, I removed the lens, openend every little thing I could, covered the open lens hole with a new lens cleaning cloth and fixed it with a hair band, wrapped the whole camera in a clean cloth and just left it alone, and let it dry patiently. I refrained from turning the camera on, for about a couple of days. (This was sooo hard). But when we had the fire adventure with Nova @novab at the beach, I gave it a try, and it worked again. https://365project.org/mona65/365/2018-07-13
Now home again, I gave her another 2 weeks, to recover. And it seems, that all is fine now. Glad it was fresh water, I fell in.

So glad to hear the camera recovered and that you didn't melt.

Now that is an adventure that you never thought to take. I am so happy that you and your camera survived. I admire your resourcefulness and patience. The sign must have been written by a lawyer, most of the bases/out comes are covered.
