2019-04-29 floral symmetry

It's that time of the year, when our fortest are covered with these beautiful little snow white stars and ... the air smells of garlic. The starry flower of Allium ursinum (wild bear leek) is for me a beautiful example of floral symmetry. Well most are star shape or radial, meaning they can be divided into 3 or more identical sectors which are related to each other by rotation about the centre of the flower.
Almost like a starry night. Very beautiful, although I imagine them smelling sweet.

these are lovely - and we'd call them one of the wild garlics or what I do from choice, ransoms.

Beautiful clear shot. May I ask if you have lowered the saturation in photoshop, if you don't mind saying?

@gardencat Hi Joanne, of course I do not mind. There is quite a lot of processing involved in this one. ;-) It's a mobil phone picture I took in "black-white" mode. But I changed my mind, when I saw it on screen, and did add a greenish layer in PSE. And contrast, and sharpness on the flower and a gaussian blur in the background, etc. etc.... Lot's of layers and playing. Let me know, if you have more questions.

@mona65 Thanks Mona, I'm trying to educate my own 'eye'. The colour tones in this just seemed toned down/low contrast and I was trying to figure out what gave it that look. The fact that you started B&W and added green back in explains it perfectly.
