My youngest nephew and godchild F. reached the 1.40 meters last year and is since allowed to ride the really good roller coasters. So for the second time it‘s my job to be a good (and cool) auntie, to take him as a birthday present to the theme-park (Europa-Park, Rust, Southern Germany) and ride with him, whatever he wants, and how many times he wants.
For the records: Blue Fire 3x, Silverstar 1x, Wodan-Timburcoaster, Euro-Mir, Matterhorn-Blitz, Poseidon, and also the water rides, like Rafting, to name a few.
This picture is from the Blue Fire (our favourite): The train is accelerated to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds using a linear induction motor launch on an 80-metre-long launch track. The launch propels the train over a turn that peaks at 38 metres high. Then, the turn leads into a vertical loop 32 metres high, which is the tallest loop on any launched roller coaster in Europe. (I won an ice cream, as I was courageous enough to do this with the hands in the air). One turn culminates in a mid-course brake run; and, exiting the brake run, the train completes a twisted horseshoe roll that partially passes over a lake. One airtime hill follows, and the ride ends with a heartline roll and final brake run. Hera a virtual ride on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt3qyCqv-eU
We actually kind of enjoyed ourselfs!
But it was a day for F. and not for photography. So this is not the best picture, taken with the mobile phone, while waiting in line to do the coaster.
This is a good photo of the roller coaster. You are a good auntie. Road one once. I was in sheer terror the entire time and said if I ever got off i'd never do it again. And I haven't.
