From Megsy;
"So my challenge to you this week, if you wish to accept is, find 3-5 unusual objects (not normally seen together) and create a still life composition of them - who knows they might just look right together. How you choose to process the photograph is up to you."
I studied Renaissance artwork and lighting and produced this. I rally got into this today.
For the sooc and setup look here http://365project.org/monika64/behind-the-scen/2012-09-07
Great image - love the processing and the randomness when you look really closely. The tomatoes in the glass don't look at all out of place until you think - there are tomatoes in a Martini glass
Great shot. It is very Renaissance looking, so you have captured it perfectly. I liked seeing your set up shot too. It's fun getting into these Get Pushed Challenges
You nailed it, Mon!!! I quite like the "behind the scenes" shot too... well, minus the chair :P... but the lighting is great. I think you can say with confidence that the challenge was met and a massive success :) Ps... it's on the PP!!! :D
Whoa, I'm happy this went somewhere, I really learnt a lot on this challenge and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I knew when I took the original that I had got the lighting right, I quite like the original too, but hey, I had to process, just to see if I could. Thanks for your favs @skipt07@carolinedreams@ozziehoffy@tbats22@lyno@megsy@zuzana
I love what you did with the challenge you were given! This is so different than what we see most times on this site! Good for you for stretching/pushing yourself! Love it and a fav!
And now on to our own challenge! So happy to be paired with you this week!!
You asked what I'd been challenged with already, let me see if I remember them all: hi-key selfie, architecture, residential shots from my neighborhood, street photography, old-rundown-vintage, doors & windows, b&w,and I know I'm missing 1 but can't think of it right at the moment... :-)
Now for your challenge: I spend some time going through your album, and as one of your followers, already knew a) your work is wonderful and b) your album has a lot of variety in it already....so what do I challenge you with....hmmmmmm
How about architecture? It's one thing I didn't really see in your work. Are you up for that?
@socalgal I'm up for achitecture if you like but we live in a newish, coastal area and theres not much "architecture" to speak of (I have done a few over the months esp when I've gone into the city). Feel free to push harder.
@monika64
Monika, I'm sorry...I just saw your note to me on my challenge to you (having issues lately with the 365 not sharing all updates with me...hmmmmm)
If it's not too late for a harder push, then how about:
Processing - show me a capture that reflects a new use in processing for you, one that you haven't dabbled in yet...try something you've hesitated on trying, or haven't had the time to really roll up your sleeves and give a go to... ie: grunge effect, old fashioned, etc...
Make sense?? And if you're already deep into my original challenge, please feel free to continue down that path.
Hows yours going?
I knew when I took the original that I had got the lighting right, I quite like the original too, but hey, I had to process, just to see if I could. Thanks for your favs
