Apparently, turquoise is an opaque crystal. Trusty Wiki uses the description: "cryptocrystalline mineral". I just like the term "cryptocrystaline". It seems to mean that turquoise as a single crystal can not be found, and the stones we see consist of minute crystals, very hard to distinguish even microscopically. But it is still a crystal. Or at least a crystal formation. Whatever. I combined my chosen colour theme for this week with the macro challenge theme, which is crystals, and which you still have the time to join https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/45764/**new-macro-challenge**-%22crystals%22-10/29-11/26
Great capture. Really interesting, turquoise is my birth stone I like the sound of Cryptocrystalline. In my imagination i like having Kryptonite as a birth stone.
