I know what you mean - I'd like to take great landscapes but it now appears to be necessary to use filters and much processing to get an image that is "acceptable" not what I like to do - but I do like this shot - not adjusted too much and I like the absence of most of the colour - I like the slight upward turn of the clouds in particular that appear to mimic the coastline - the only thing I would try might be to try to get a little more contrast into the sky and distant hills
I can relate, I certainly don't feel like landscapes like me. This is wonderful though. The sky is awesome with those clouds and I really like the grass in the foreground.
Do you mind a suggestion. For landscape you need to find the sweet spot in your lens - usually f11. I love doing landscape and though far from an expert I feel it is my strongest suit. I think you also needed a faster shutter time. Lastly I would if I could move slightly to the left to make that water into a leading line. Something of interest in a landscape ups the anti. A leading line is a strong picture. Hope I haven't offended.
@joansmor Thank you so much for your guidance. I have no idea where to start with landscapes @handymaurice suggested a better definition in the background. Will take all advice on board :-)) just need to persevere!
