When I was 12 years old I received my first vinyl for my birthday. It was 'Be Yourself Tonight' by The Eurythmics. I was so thrilled by getting it as I loved Annie Lennox! However, where I got it was a downer as there was no turntable to play it on - Caloundra up on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.
I bought the 'True Blue' album by Madonna out of my own cash. As I understand it; it's one of the hardest vinyls to find now.
And I put these up today because it's my birthday today; and I thought to put them up in remembrance of my first vinyls as presents.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
♫ Happy Birthday to you, ♫ Happy Birthday to you, ♫ Happy Birthday dear Lynda, ♫ Happy Birthday to you! ♫♫ Didn’t know it was your birthday…hope it’s a great day! Great collage!
Thanks you all! I had a wonderful day of going to lunch, presents and sussing out a new home theatre for my place (as my old one had died a few weeks ago). I ended up at Mum and Dad's for dinner and cake and was home by around 9pm... what a day!
**Happy Belated Birthday** Lynda!! I saw on your mom's site that you'd had a wonderful day! A day like this is perfect for a stroll down Memory Lane as you've done above...I understand the love of favorite old music. I've got my vinals from the very early 60s, but nothing to play them on anymore... Just can't give them up!
