Yesterday was a loooong day for Mum and me. From midday onwards, the day seemed stretch and stretch as a lot of things happened.
We had to go to Centrelink. This is a Government employment centre and I have to go there to be job assessed if I wish to enter the work force again. This was a better interview than I thought it was going to be as I was asked where I wanted to be instead of being told.
Lunch was next, but it looked like rain. So, I headed home to close a window for Little Miss Stevie and we went to Limelight. Now, I have been planning a Care Package for Mum seeing she's been caring for everyone around her - except herself - and yesterday was the day I decided to give it to her. Well! After a gorgeous lunch of vegetarian lasagne I gave her the bag and she opened all the goodies in it from overseas over coffee (which we had fun spilling...ahaha).
After we finished ( and I took plenty of photos), we booked our day for the Melbourne Cup Luncheon at the Logan Entertainment Centre and then we were off to Logan Art Gallery to look at the current exhibition called Artwaves. This is arts from all the schools in the district which are displayed each year; and there are some brilliant artists out there who are just waiting to be discovered. While there, Mother Nature had a howling tantrum of a storm outside and about halfway through - while it calmed a little - we bolted barefoot out to the car with our umbrellas.
Once home, Mum left me to it and then came back to help me with it all. It was great to have the help with the water. Even though the flooding wasn't as horrendous as it was last Saturday, something still has to be done about the drain next to my house so I don't have to be diligent about the storms and rains all the time.
By the time Mum left, it was 4:30pm... boy, what a long day it was!

@digitalrn thank you for your comment. Yeah, we had a great afternoon in amongst the rain, thunder and storms. It was a very long afternoon too seeing how much we squeezed into it! :D
