Stephen King's New Book by mozette

Stephen King's New Book

While out and about on Thursday at Garden City, I found - and bought - Stephen King's new book at QBD. How could I resist a Dark Tower Series book to add to my collection?

I tweaked it to make it look really good. I love the special effects of edifices they have there.. especially the brick wall I've used here - very effective! :D
Ooo a new one... last read the dark tower series about 1o or more years ago.. might have to pop to the local book shop

@andycoleborn funny thing was that I wasn't looking for it... I walked past the shelf and there it was! I had the same thought as you: Oooh! A new one! And I paid $10 less than the marked price! How good is that ? :D

@andycoleborn I've yet to hunt down the other Dark Tower series books to begin reading them... from start to finish. May begin doing that in the next year as I find them one by one. :D

@mozette they are a bit heavy going compared to his over books...

@andycoleborn That's cool... if I can get through Lord of the Rings, I'm sure I can read these ones. :D

@mozette haha.. then these will be a walk over... As much as I love sci-fi/horror I could not get into LOTR

@andycoleborn I had to read that tome of a book over 3 years during my lunch hour.... and with a very good MacQuarie Dicationary next to me for all the different meanings for the words he used: like the 3 different meaning for the word 'fern'... jeez!

Anyway, LOTR was a great way to put my dog to sleep during a thunderstorm... true story. :P

@mozette I couldn't even watch the films..... bored me to death haha

@andycoleborn I watched them - even went to the premier of one of them! - and bought them on dvd! I love them. I also have a massive JRR Tolkien book collection and the official JRR Tolkien goblet collection (where they are hand made by a man in Melbourne).

So, yeah, I'm a bit of a fan of Tolkien. But I'm also a big fan of SK. I sent him a get well card - via snail mail - to his house with a story idea inside it to keep his mind going when he was hit by that car. I know he used it... or at least filed it away. :)

@mozette my brother is editor of the british fantasy society and writes/edits/reviews these type of stories for a living... he probably would disown me if he knew my views... I love intelligent space sci-fi but just cannot get into the witchy/middle earthy ghost and goblins stories..

@andycoleborn I have a blog I do book reviews on. I try to read all kinds of books from all genres on there... and review them as I think they deserve. Check it out. :D

I actually haven't read a Stephen King book yet I am ashamed to say but he is on my bucket list. Nice picture Linda, are you a commercial artist?

Stephen King is so well known to readers. Has he ever written a bad one?

@wilbo43 I've been reading Stephen King since I was 16 - when I read 'Christine' and scared myself from sleeping with the light off for a good few weeks! :) Since then, I have been reading his work... and loving it. No, I'm not a commercial artist. However, I do paint and do artistic endeavours as well as work voluntarily at the Logan Art Gallery.

@digitalrn Yeah... I think 'Under the Dome' and '11/22/63' weren't his best works.

@andycoleborn @wilbo43 @digitalrn thank you all for your lovely comments. I do love Stephen King - and who doesn't enjoy a story from his great writer? - and when I do find a good series I hope to read it and enjoy it to its full extent! :D
