Today is Mozart's Birthday. Over 250 years ago, this great composer was born. He was known as a genius in his day; however wasn't taken all that seriously by his peers and hated by his rivals.
Once he died, his music lived on for centuries teaching us a lot about how much he adored living and the conspiracy that has surrounded his death until recently; where they have found he died from a Strep infection aged 35 or 36 in 1791.
This is most of my collection of Mozart things. The only things missing is my Mozart pen and my Mozart coffee mug... the bags, umbrella top 4 cds (sitting in a circle) and the two badges are from Salzburg, Austria; while the rest has been collected by me here in Australia.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@digitalrn most definitely. I think that's why I love his music so much. He did so much for the orchestra and for the percussion section as well. He - along with Beethover, Bach and one other composer - worked on bringing the Woodwind and Brass sections into their own; expanding the classical orchestra into what we know it today. :D
What a great collection Lynda. My father-in-law is an accomplished pianist and organist who loves to play classical music a lot of which is pieces from Mozart
