Grandma's Glory Box by mozette

Grandma's Glory Box

Today, I was at Mum and Dad's place pulling apart my Grandma's glory box to refurbish it. This meant I had to take out the tacks, remove the top piece of fabric and sand it back to where I want it to be.

In the photo, I'm putting on the first layer of shelack. Tomorrow, I'll be putting on another 10 layers or so and sanding it back in between layers... *phew* what a day!
It'll look wonderful once you're done. lots of work, but what pleasure you'll have when you see it back to it's original. a lovely selfie.

That should last another 100 years. Sounds like it will end up being a great family treasure

@bruni @digitalrn @wendyfrost Thank you all for your lovely comments. I haven't gotten around to thanking you all until now... because I've been so busy lately. But it's the waiting game now for the box... for the shellac to harden. So, I'll be back at work on it on Friday... polishing it.

Will you take a picture of it when it's all done and share with us?

@bruni Oh! Yes of course! I'll put up a collage of before and after, so you can see the difference. :D
