Hebel Block Workshop by mozette

Hebel Block Workshop

On Friday, I went to a Hebel Block workshop. Hebel is aerated concrete. It's light-weight and can be carved into large pieces to build houses, pathways and sculptures... just like we did on Friday afternoon.

I cut the corner off mine and turned the chunk I was stuck with into a part of the piece - a teardrop of old hardships past - this is why it looks imperfect, not finished and not very pretty. It's because my life hasn't been perfect, pretty and I don't think it ever will be.

Sorry to dump on you guys emotionally... but artistic people have a lot of problems and this is how we get it out. My piece looks unfinished - but it is finished.

I took the corner piece I cut off into a little piece of its own I'll put around the house ... so I made two pieces out of one.
Clever you very nicely sculptured and personal to you . I hope life improves for you as the years go by you seem to keep very busy with all your interests and commitments which must give you a lot of pleasure.

@wendyfrost Thank you for your lovely comment. I enjoy doing workshops at the gallery I work at. They're more often than not free and you get to take home your artwork... on this day, I made two pieces of art out of one... something a lot of the ladies didn't do with their spare piece they cut off.
