Penneys Department Store

I'm working on my late-Grandpa's journals. In 1937, he came to Brisbane to attend the Royal National Show and sell ice creams to the kids for the week.

Well, he went to the very first department store on the Queen Street Mall called Penneys. It had air-conditioning, escalators and was really nice and clean. Grandpa talked about it a lot in his journal; which meant he was very impressed with it.
