I've been trying to grow sweet potato for some years now very unsuccessfully... I used eyes, skin chunks, planting in summer, and once I planted and all it did was rain and that attempt was moot because it was too wet.
Now, I'm planting a whole one with roots I got going in a glass of water.
Lets see if it'll grow.
Half the fun of gardening is actually getting something to stay alive!
