One of my many favorite authors Laura Ingalls Wilder states, “A moment’s pause to watch the glory of sunrise or a sunset is soul satisfying.”
In the last 365 days—give or take a few—I’ve taken more than a moment’s pause to watch sunsets and sunrises. I’ve driven the back roads of Indiana to find many weathered barns, the historical covered bridges, and Indiana round barns. I’ve paused for a moment to capture the snowstorms and rainstorms of Indiana’s ever-changing weather. I’ve captured the beauty of the seasons from a hot and dry summer, to the warm colorful fall days, the cloudy and gray days of winter, and the snowy days in the spring. Life’s constantly changing, I know. But I fear that I wouldn’t have noticed these simple moments if I wouldn’t have signed up for 365 in 2010. After three years with 1095 moments, my soul is certainly satisfied.
Thank you immensely for the follow, the comments, the support, and the friendship. Thank you for sharing your life with me.
Mrs. Smith, you have enriched my life immeasurably. Your courage, your intellect and your creativity have been a beacon in a busy world. I know I speak for all your 365 friends in saluting your accomplishment.
Congraulations, Carla! I really enjoy following you and seeing all of your beautiful photos. This project really makes us pause and enjoy life more! I like that quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder!
congratulations Carla, what a huge accomplishment. And isn't it so true, the things you might have missed had you not become a photographer. I can't believe what a life changer it has been for me too.
I love the quote......it's so, so true.
A great achievement and my wholehearted congratulations to you on this day. I hope I would be able to follow your steps in the future. This is a gorgeous sunrise/set shot. Very appropriate for the end of a 365 year/beginning of a new one.
It is a pleasure to click on your albums and read your words. This is such a special shot. When are you going to write your book? You have such wonderful shots and the words to go with them. Hope you're going to do another year. I love coming to your site.

I totally agree with you Carla. The whole 365 experience changed the way I look at daily life and what I see in it. In the process I met some really amazing people. Take good care and thanks for the reminder to pause, relax, and breathe in life.
Fantastic capture to bid farewell. Hope you drop in from time to time and share more of your life's experiences. It has been a pleasure following your journey.
