A Father's Day Walk in the Garden

I had an afternoon visit with my dad and mom for Father’s Day, and we had plenty of brownies and ice cream. (See yesterday's picture!) The funny thing is I wasn’t the only one who thought to make him brownies as my younger brother also made brownies! haha! We decided to freeze some so that we could enjoy on another day.

After our afternoon snack, my dad showed off his garden to me on Father’s Day. In this picture, he is checking on his blackberries. He tasted one, and decided that they weren’t ripe enough yet. As he walked around the garden, I noticed that he was still a little unsteady on his feet following back surgery in December, but it’s good to see him getting around and enjoying his garden.

Back surgery takes time to heal but the fact that it hasn't stopped him from gardening is great! Most people just ease out of activities and never get back in. That garden looks awesome!
